Commissions

To start the process of booking your commission all you need to do is get in contact via Facebook, Instagram or the ‘contact me‘ button below.

We need to talk about your ideas and the details are important for both of us. I want you to feel part of the process. 

You’ll be asked to send me photographs or a selection of photographs that you want me to use. Please read the section below for more information about photographs. I’ll check the quality of the images and make sure they are suitable for what you want me to create.

Once we have agreed on the details I will send you a quote. Please see the information on pricing. Your quote may differ slightly if you require more than one subject in your commission .

I will require an initial 50% deposit to be made at the point of booking.

Once I have started I like to provide regular photo updates, this helps to keep you involved in the process but also gives you an opportunity to request any alterations.

The final balance will be due once the portrait is completed prior to shipping. Shipping costs will be provided in your quote depending on your location.

For most commissions I work from your photographs, here are a few useful tips when choosing your photo.

• Light - ensure that the subject is well lit, preferably with natural daylight. A good test is in the eyes can you see their colour do they have reflection if not it’s likely too dark.

• Pose - maybe take a photo at an unusual angle, this can make for a unique portrait. Pick one that suits the character.

• Quality - your photo must be in focus and taken with a decent camera. Modern mobile phones are usually fine, clean the lenses before taking a phone photo. It makes a big difference. 

•Downloads - don’t download a photo from social media sites as they can squash the original file size and I can see the details better. Find an original if you still have it. 

• Copyright - only send photos you’ve  taken yourself, unless you get permission from the photographer to use them.
